A landing page is the page that people first arrive on a site on. In most cases it is the home page. Yet with SEO, the whole purpose is to bring more prospects to a site and in doing this each page optimized could be a potential landing page. After all, if prospects are looking for a specific product or service, they want to land on a page related to their needs. This is why its so important that these pages draw visitors into the site and convert them into customers. If people arrive on a page and leave almost immediately without taking action, it means they haven't found what they need or are turned off by something on the page.
Each page I optimize for an SEO campaign is designed as if it is the first page a potential customer sees. I also monitor it to see its effectiveness. A careful analysis of the analytics of a site can help determine whether a landing page is effective or not.
Landing page optimization is also part of my pay per click marketing services. It's not just that people click on your ad, but that they stay on your site when they do. Often its not good enough to simply send them to your home page.
Landing page optimization is about developing pages that relate to specific pay per click campaigns. This can involve testing, just as it does with the ads. The goal is to draw consumers into your site and get them to purchase the product or service your advertising.
