Keyword research
Keyword research is the key to a successfully optimized web site. Choose the wrong phrases to focus on and you can waste a lot of time, money, and effort. Choose the right words, however, and you can connect with prospects who are actively looking for your products or services.
As a SEO consultant I first do the research to find the keywords and phrases prospects are using on the search engines. My keyword research is extensive and includes:
- The words you supply me with.
- The results from keyword tools I utilize including Wordtracker and Overture.
- Examination of your competitor’s sites.
- Analysis of your site's analytics.
Then I determine if ranking for these phrases benefits your site. For example car may be a highly searched for phrase, but is it realistic to think you'll rank high for this phrase. And, more importantly if you sell a specific type of vehicle, this is the phrase you want to be found.
If you're considering a pay per click campaign, then keyword analysis is even more crucial. After all, you lose money for each click of a word that isn't bringing targeted prospects to your site.
My SEO Copywriting Services incorporate these words into the copy engages the reader’s attention. And does so in a manner that doesn’t seem intrusive or out of place. This is where my extensive background in direct marketing gives me experience that many SEO consultants may lack.
And I use these phrases not just in the copy of your web site. Some of the most strategic places to display keywords or keyword phrased include:
- Title tags
- Page Content
- Meta Description
- Meta Keywords
- Heading tags
- Anchor text within links
- Images (ALT attributes)
And don’t think that just because your customers are local that keyword research is important? If your selling real estate you want to rank high not just for this phrase, but also real estate agency, real estate agent and realtor. Local search optimization is as big a part of search engine marketing as any other aspect. No matter what size your market.
